One of the hottest accessories around just went hot pink! Alexander McQueen's scarves have been dipped in pink and scattered with paisley to benefit Breast Cancer Care through Selfridges & Co's charitable Pinkridges event. The event runs from the end of August and the scarf will only cost £140 -- a small price to support one of the common diseases among women. Wear something beautiful with a message and you'll find that fashion has a fabulously pink lining. Who doesn't love pink?Ralph Lauren's Official Olympics Collection

Sales Strong at Hermes
.jpg)
Hermes Paris has just posted a 12.8% increase in sales for the first half of the year and also announces plans to unveil 15 new or improved retail posts in the coming months. Further proof that what doesn't go out of style is worth investing in, the brisk sales at Hermes are mirrored in the vintage market, as well -- fashionistas hungry for rare silk scarves and enamel bracelets are in constant bidding wars on eBay. (Don't get me started on my recent loss of a safari-themed bangle from the early '80s. Damn you, iris1680!) A nice point of entree to the luxury brand? Perfect-for-summer scent "Un Jardin en Mediterranee," the eau de toilette equivalent of a stroll through Mediterranean gardens. At least until you justify that new Birkin.
Diesel Owner Picks Up Viktor & Rolf
Big news for fashion design firm Viktor & Rolf. Renzo Rosso, the Italian industrialist behind Diesel, has acquired a majority stake in brand helmed by the dynamic Dutch duo of Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. Rosso has said that he plans to make major investments in the company's ready-to-wear business and will add freestanding Viktor & Rolf stores as well as adding licensed products like glasses and jewelry.Rosso's Italian holding company, Only the Brave also controls Dsquared, Maison Martin Margiela and Sophia Kokosalaki, and manufactures Vivienne Westwood's leading lines which sounds like good company for the often unconventional Viktor & Rolf designs.
Levis® Vintage XX First Blue Rigid Jeans
Styles may come and go but Levi's seem to manage to weather the vicissitudes of trends, falling in and out of fashion but never disappearing. Taking a page from luxury jeansmakers, the original 501s get a boost into the world of premium denim through the use of nine ounce Japanese denim that is hand dyed using methods that recreate the process from the original jeans. The Levis® Vintage XX First Blue Rigid Jeans have the original cinchback style used in 501s and come with a special totebag. They sell for around $570 and will be released at the end of September. I've got nothing against a man in casual clothing but casual has its time and place. When you need to step away from the t-shirt and the polo it's time to head to Lugo. Fairway Skins Ladies' Golf Gloves
Ladies' golf glove and pouch maker Fairway Skins Co. introduced its new line of butterfly-design gloves, made from the finest cabretta leather ($36). In keeping with the company's signature floral designs, each of the six new species rests on a colorful botanical, creating gloves that seems almost too nice to use on the course. Six classic floral designs also are available. Fairway Skins won a "Best New Product" award at the 2007 PGA Fall Expo and last year the company was awarded the GolfTest USA "Seal of Excellence" for the superior quality, value and performance of its products. Tonic Generation, Charity of the Day
Tonic Generation offers just one product in many styles (T-shirts) but donates on average 40 percent of its revenue. The organization partners with designers and causes to create limited edition products in these areas: the environment, education, social welfare and poverty. Luella Bartley recently designed four T-shirts with names like Stag, Scary Douglas, Pagan Sun, and Robin. Each has been designed especially for Tonic. Made of a 70-30 bamboo/cotton blend, the fabric does not harm the environment and has been produced according to ethical practices. Tonic is similar to iGive in that you can choose your cause and track your impact. Read the FAQs for more info on how it works!Akris Outfits High-Powered Women At High Prices
Swiss designer Albert "I cannot work with cheap fabric" Kriemler has gradually built his family-owned brand, Akris, into a luxury power seller. Now serious competition for longstanding luxury brands Armani and Chanel, Akris often outsells both in that elusive upper echelon of fashion. But you won't see the brand on many a young starlet. Akris is not for the trendy, despite a criticized attempt to change things up for the Spring 08 collection. Favored by women looking to be taken seriously -- Condoleeza Rice is a fan, as is Diane Sawyer -- Akris focuses on quality and timelessness, with the seasonless, highly packable fabric to prove it. Yet highly packable translates to highly priced: a cashmere/silk jersey dress is in the $3-4000 range. Check out selections from Fall at Bergdorf's and also at Neiman's. Then browse the gallery to see some evening pieces, and all those gorgeously cut pants. To see some new shapes and a few perfectly draped dresses, check out the Akris resort collection on Style.com, which isn't out quite yet.Kate Moss' Latest Starring Role

This is certainly turning out to be a banner season for Kate Moss; it seems every time we turn around she pops up in another fall ad campaign. And we might add that despite all Kate's been through, she's looking more gorgeous than ever. We already told you about her Just Cavalli and David Yurman campaigns, and she re-upped with Donna Karan as well; the latest is for French fashion house Longchamp, for whom she has modeled several seasons running. The cinematic black-and-white ads were shot by photo duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott at the famed Café de Flore in Paris. Kate's co-star is French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who appeared in the last Hannibal Lecter film. Kate's been busy elsewhere as well. She recently posed topless in W magazine and is launching a new fragrance.
Burberry Revenues Soar 26%

Brit fashion brand Burberry has announced that first-quarter revenues have risen by 26 per cent, continuing the upswing we reported on earlier this year. The growth is due to increased business in emerging markets and strong performance in North America, the Times of London reports. The uncertain economy has proved challenging to some luxury brands.
The company, founded in 1856, recently opened new stores have in Cannes, Budapest, Italy, Korea and Spain, and has launched a cool new ad campaign. "Our brand momentum is strong, driven by product innovation and a focused management team," Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts told the paper. "This momentum, together with the diversity and balance we have across products, channels and regions, underpins our confidence for the future."
Fashion Brands Still Sold on Supermodels for Fall

Back in April we commented on the fact that several major fashion houses had chosen to bring back '90s supermodels such as Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell for their spring ad campaigns. We speculated at the time that the revival was no mere flash in the pan and would continue for subsequent seasons; the new crop of fall ad campaigns has now proved our prognostications correct. Top of the heap is Linda Evangelista's new series of ads for Prada shot by Steven Meisel (above), which rates as a major comeback for the ageless beauty.
In addition, both Chanel and Salvatore Ferragamo have kept Schiffer for their new fall campaigns, while Turlington returns for Escada as well. Elsewhere, Naomi Campbell appears for Yves Saint Laurent and Amber Valletta does the honors for DSquared, Iceberg and David Yurman; while as we mentioned previously Eva Herzigova and Kate Moss heat up the new Louis Vuitton and Just Cavalli campaigns respectively. See the gallery for more.
Alexander McQueen AW '08: Online Shoppers Rejoice
Alexander McQueen -- bestowed high honors from the Queen herself as well as the late ruling monarch of fashion, Isabella Blow -- has just granted devotees across the globe, or at least those with functioning laptops, their wish come true: online shopping via his website. As of yesterday, McQueen's Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection is available for purchase online. Featuring seemingly life-sized models posing in various Fall looks, the site's menswear group appears en route to an obscenely chic hunting party in the English countryside. One can waste a good portion of the afternoon viewing catwalk video from the Fall show, each look an exercise in sleek, fashioned from luxe black tulle and mohair and often with intricate crystal detailing. Oh, and there's free shipping in the U.S. Same day messenger service available to Manhattanites. How befitting.Cavalli Brings Back Kate Moss for Fall

Last month we reported that Italian designer Roberto Cavalli had picked not one but four beautiful models to replace Kate Moss in the ad campaign for his signature collection, which will be modeled on the classic movie Il Gattopardo. He's not quite over Kate, however. She is now starring in ads for one of his diffusion lines, Just Cavalli, which is targeted to a younger audience. The ads, shot by fashion photog duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, mirror real life somewhat, portraying Kate partying with a bunch of rock star dudes (no controlled substances are visible). After finally breaking with messed up Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, the eternally gorgeous Brit beauty took up with another, more presentable rocker, James Hince of The Kills, though on her recent party jaunt to Sardinia he was conspicuously absent.
