I'd heard recently that Diageo is planning fizzy vodka and gin but International English Distillers have already come out with Vodka O2, the world's first 80 proof sparkling vodka. Apparently it took 18 months to create the process that puts oxygen bubbles into the vodka. The British vodka is produced from wheat and a small amount of malted barley then distilled and filtered three times in 100-year-old copper pot stills. The effervescent vodka should be launched in Canada and the US at the start of next year but is already available overseas. I often grumble about a new vodka launching every five minutes but thbis one brings something dramatically new to the table.O2 Sparkling Vodka
